Andy Fiddes Trio represents an exploration of two of the known universal languages - music and numbers. Improvisation, composition, the intertwining of three voices within rhythm and melody.

In recent years Andy Fiddes’ focus has been mainly on large ensemble composition. With sold out performances for his composition “The Gaffer Suite” with the Jazzgroove Mothership Orchestra featuring Scott Tinkler and performances under the baton of Maria Schneider, Darcey James-Argue and Chris Potter he has had no lack of exposure with world class musicians.

Andy regularly performs at Australia’s major Jazz Festivals and is a resident composer for the Jazzgroove Mothership Orchestra: Australia’s premier large jazz ensemble.

His small groups demonstrate the exploration of new ideas through composition, and his three current small ensembles; Livewire, Survival of the Fiddes and Andy Fiddes Trio, show three distinct musical aesthetics showcasing Andy’s talent not only as a composer, but as an individual voice on the trumpet.
