Join the Jeremy Rose Quintet as they perform music from his third and latest release, 'Within and Without', featuring a stellar lineup of some of Sydney’s best jazz artists. Born and raised in Sydney, Rose has spent time studying in New York and travelling extensively, absorbing influences from around the world. An award-winning saxophonist-composer with a PhD in composition and almost a dozen releases with his co-led projects, Rose has recently collaborated with guitarist Lionel Loueke on the ARIA nominated ‘The Vampires Meet Lionel Loueke’ and Kurt Rosenwinkel on the aforementioned 'Within and Without', recorded in Berlin last April. Rose received the APRA Professional Development Award for Jazz in 2015, two Bell Awards, and was runner up at the National Jazz Awards saxophone competition.

The music on Rose’s 'Within and Without’ was written in a time of great change in Rose’s life; the tumultuous end of a relationship, introspective travels through Morocco and Indonesia, and newfound creative inspiration. Jeremy describes the album as; “opposing forces of attraction and repulsion, joy and anguish, hope and despair, pain and ecstasy.”

“A magic web of harmony and creativity, a total kaleidoscopic affair, full of contrasting moods and tonal colours.” - Jazz and Beyond
